Our Church Leadership

Because of our mission status, we are very much a laity led congregation. Our motto is "Minister:  All Members";  however, the Vestry handles the business decisions of the church as well as model the mission of the church - to spread the Good News of forgiveness and reconciliation so that Love Wins!

 

Deb Leksell, Senior Warden 

Retired County Treasurer. Active in Good Shepherd, formerly on Diocesan Mission Commission and Ways and Means Committee.  Lay Reader, church school teacher, "webperson"+ other roles.

 

Rhonda Masser, Junior Warden, member of Bishop's Committee.  Retired social worker. Has worked on numerous annual fund raising events. Active member of the Ecumenical Human Needs Committee, board member of Upper Des Moines Opportunity and RSVP volunteer.

 

Larry Bucknam, Treasurer, started teaching at the WCHS in 1962 and retired in 2002, but has subbed at the HS ever since and helped with Middle School wrestling. Married in 1968 to Nan Rudolph (also a teacher); they have two children who are also teachers.

 

Tom McLaughlin, Scribe, is a retired pharmacist and long time member of Good Shepherd.
